The star lineman from the best era of West football lands on this list at No. 98.
Stacy Gedman was a two-time All-Big Eight lineman back in the days where linemen still went both ways. Gedman's junior year, he powered the Warriors to a 9-0 record. It was the first time a Rockford Public School had completed a full season undefeated and untied since 1910.
His senior year, West tied for the Big Eight title at 6-1 and finished 7-2 overall.
Gedman's dominant play landed him a scholarship to the University of Illinois. Unlike West, which had its best stretch with Gedman on the team, Illinois was suffering through perhaps its worst era in school history. Gedman played on the freshman team in 1966 and then was on the varsity in 1967, 1968 and 1969 when the Illini went just 5-25. Gedman only lettered in 1967.
