History Lesson: Rockford's forgotten football pioneer

Thank you to Matt Trowbridge for setting up a weekly history column in the Rockford Register Star. Each week, well as many weeks as I can, I'll be filing some kind of piece on local sports history.

Considering it's the 100th season of the NFL, I used my first one to highlight the great Laurie Walquist, who played 111 games in the NFL from 1922 to 1931.
